HISTORY OF BOGAHAWATTE ESTATE

Bogahawatte estate is situated in the western slope of the central hills where high elevation mountains such as Kirigalpoththa, Thotupalakanda, SriPada.

Great western & Dukes nose are viewable from the Top Division of Bogahawatte estate. This estate consists of 3 Divisions with a total extent of 129.50 hectares. Bogahawatte is registered under Fair-trade International, Bonn Germany along with Kelliewatte and Chryslers’ farm estates.

The factory has a capacity of 8000 kilos green leaf per day, we are undertaking leafy manufacture in this estate consisting 19 grades.
The estate has a labour force of 247 and the total population is 1296

Bogahawatte has enough natural water resources, for two Hydro Power project and there are more than three small streams originate from top division in our estate and joining to kotmale oya at Akaramale Estate boundary and we can see the nice beautiful step water falls from top division in rainy season, Kotamale Dairy Production Company is situated at lower division of this estate.
